Guardian of a Brooklyn Housing Project

This New York Times article documents the work of Lisa Kenner, the one-woman squeaky wheel who tries to get residents and the NYC Housing Authority to tend to the Van Dyke Houses I, where she has lived her whole life. I was particularly interested to see that she summons her neighbors to meetings with a bullhorn, a technique I have not run across before in my research on block club organizing. It is notable that her efforts sometimes rub both her neighbors and housing officials the wrong way.
